I watched Lootcase starring Kunal Khemu, Rasika Duggal, along with Vijay Raaz, Ranvir Shorey, and Gajraj Rao, on Hotstar, and here’s what I thought of it. This movie, directed by Rajesh Krishnan, who has also directed the web series, TVF Tripplings, is a black comedy that explores issues such as corruption, mafia & the woes of a lower-middle-class family. It has a lot working in its favor, barring the pace of the movie.
Based in Mumbai, Lootcase is a story about what happens when a lower-middle-class man, Nandan Kumar, finds an abandoned red suitcase full of 100 crores. We’re introduced to some hilarious characters such as a manipulative politician, a National Geographic obsessed don, a ruthless cop turned henchman & a frustrated, yet, principled lower-middle-class wife. The movie is rife with back to back punches and good comic timing. However, it doesn’t seem to explore its full potential and loses its grip somewhere towards the middle.
This movie has been rated 7.8 on IMDb and can be streamed on Hotstar Multiplex. Watch this movie and let me know what you thought of it.
